RUMOURED PROFESSIONAL MOVE FOUR CHAMPIONS MENTIONED. ‘ , «, NEW YORK, August 8. , The tennis editor of the “New York World Telegram” understands that there is a possibility that H. Ellsworth Vines (U.S.), H. Cochet (France), J. B. Crawford (Australia) and F. J. Perry (Britain) may join W. T. Tilden m professional tennis and inaugurate a professional trophy competition similar to the Davis Cup. Tennis circles are discussing the report with scepticism. The report said that the plan was conditional on Vines successfully delending the American title against the other three. . Vines, while denying that lie knew the plan, admitted that “it would not be a bad idea.”
