CROQUET.

THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The annual meeting of the Ashburton Croquet Club was continued after the "Guardian" went to press on Saturday. After discussion it was agreed to limit the membership to fifty. The usual competitions will be held during the forthcoming season, but it was decided to .hold the progressive senior and junior' singles event every Saturday instead of on the first Saturday in each month as formerly. It was also decided to arrange these competitions for the Watt and Tucker rose bowls, East v. West. The question of enlarging the pavilion was discussed and the -following

were appointed a special committee to devise ways and means: Miss M. Moore, Mesdames J. Lane, F. W. Watt, L. C. Dunn, E. lluddock, and Mr J. Thomspon.
