TO BREAK THE BANK.
MAGNET IN ROULETTE WHEEL. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LOUDON, August 1. A colossal attempt to defraud the Municipal Casino at San Jean, where the stakes are the highest in the world, and break the roulette bank was discovered when Jean Ferri, an engineer from Milan, was dramatically arrested in the roulette-room after it had closed for the night. The night watchman caught Ferri inserting a piece of magnet in one of the roulette wheels. It is estimated that the Casino would have lost £IOO,OOO in a night.—Australian Press Association.
