TASMAN FLIGHT.
PROBABLE ON SEPTEMBER 1. TEST OF WIRELESS TO-DAY. (United Press Association —Copyright). SYDNEY, August 2. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith is making a trial flight to-morrow afternoon, when the wireless se* in the Southern Cross will be thoroughly tested. He is anxious for New Zealand to listen in, in order that he may ascertain if there will be any difficulty in picking up messages. The wavelength is 33.5 metres. The flight to New Zealand will probably commence on September 1.
In the application by Keith Anderson against Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm, the Judge made an order that defendants be restrained from selling or encumbering the Southern Cross, and that they give an undertaking that the Southern Cross will be within the jurisdiction* of the Court at the date of the hearing of the suit, and that notice of projected flights will be given to plaintiff's solicitor, the costs of the present application to he the costs in the cause. The Judge refused to make an order that in any future flights by defendants, Anderson should he allowed to take part. He also stated that he would not at present make any further order. . Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm are now free to go on with their proposed flights to West Australia and: New Zealand. They will probably commence the flight to "West Australia on Wednesday next. The date for the hearing of the suit was not fixed, as it is practically certain that evidence will have to he taken in America, on commission.— Australian Press Association.
