LAWN TENNIS.
TE MARAE CLUB. One of the finals of a series of lawn tennis matches for competition buttons donated by the Te Marae Lawn Tennis Club was played last evening on the Te Marae Courts, between J. Todd and L. Clarke (holders) and J. Farr and A. Sutherland (challengers). After a close and interesting game the former won 9-8. These buttons were presented for competition with the purpose of fostering tennis, and improving the standard of the players, and same good players have, as a result, been brought to the fore.
