CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS. TWO RECORDS BROKEN. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Two Dominion records were broken at a carnival at the Tepid Baths last night, under the auspices of the Canterbury Amateur Swimming Centre. In the 220 yards men's championship, D. P. Lindsay broke the previous record by 2 3-ssec. Moorhouse, in the 150 yards men's back-stroke championship, beat his own New Zealand record of lmin 56sec by 2sec. Following are the results of the Canterbury championship events: — 220 Yards Men's—D. P. Lindsay (East Christchurch) 1, A Stokes (East Christchurch) 2, A. Bolam (United) 3. Time, 2min 29sec. A New Zealand record. The previous record was 2.31 3-ssec. * 150 Yards Men's Back-stroke.—There were only two competitors in this race Moorhouse taking the lead from the 1 start, aid increasing his lead to win by five yards. Moorhouse clipped two seconds from the New Zealand fresh water record, which he established last month. 100 Yards Intermediate Bovs' —E. Woods (United) 1, E. MeConville (Somerfield) 2, G. Cooper (Fendalton) 3. Won by about eight yards. Time, 64 4-ssec. Men's Diving—T. Thomson (East Christchurch) 1, C. R. Riordan (Fendalton) 2, K. Cameron Christchurch) 3. Women's Diving—Miss Copplestone (United) 1, Mrs N. E. Thomson (East Christchurch) 2.
