SWIMMING.

THE ASHBURTON CLUB. At a meeting of the Committee of the Ashburton Swimming Club, Mr A. Buckingham presided. It was decided to hold a carnival early in February, to be conducted under the Ashburton Centre. It was reported that permission bad been granted by the Public Works Department to pump hot water from their transformers into the baths. The work of installing the pump and motor will be put in hand immediately. The first of a series of races for the Rose Bowl will commence on Thursday, January 19.
