LATE SPORTS.
BOWLING. THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The Ashburton Bowling Club committee met last evening, those present being Messrs R. Buxton (presidentT, W. R. Lane, W. Oakley, C. G. M. Boyce, John Watson, L. C. Dunn, T. J. Doherty and W. H. Higgins. - It was decided to accept entries up to Saturday, January 21, for a two ball pairs competition for trophies presented by anonymous donors. In response to a request from the Allenton Club it was agreed that the pennant match between the two clubs fixed for Saturday, should be postponed until next Thursday. A rink competition, for which six rinks have entered will be played on Saturday. A sub-committee was appointed to arrange for an open day on the club's green in about a month's time.
METHVEN v. RAKAIA. The following will represent the Metbven Bowling Club against Rakaia at Rakaia col Saturday:— Jesse Stone, J. Watson, F. Anderson, H. E. Thomas (s); W. J. Going, F. Richards, J. Beattie, W. J. Owen (s); J. A. Callaghan, V. Rouse, W. J. Cooksley, P. Cookson (s); J. Dowling, J. Campbell, G. Cooksoo.. J. Lawson (s). Emergencies: J. Duff, W. Owers F. Ward.
