THE WEATHER.

MARKED IMPROVEMENT. The weather to-day was very fine, with a cloudless sky and bright sunlight. The day was not oppressively hot, being relieved by a light breeze from the north-east. The barometer at 9 o'clock this morning registered 30.4 inches as against 29.99 yesterday. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 64 and 49 degrees respectively, compared with 72 and 50 on Tuesday. OFFICIAL FORECAST. The following forecast was issued to-day : Indications are for moderate northerly winds, freshening later, and backing by west to south. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, warm, showers later. Barometer falling, then rising.
