SEAMEN’S DISPUTE.
MOVE BY OWNERS AffIfAITED. (Per Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, January 9. The crews of the Moreton Bay, the Ormiston, and the Canberra have been paid off, and the vessels tied up. Heaving succeeded in rendering these' vessels idle, it is expected that the seamen will now wait for the owners tomake the next move. The union now has a large number of. unemployed within it's ranks. ' STEWARDS’ OFFER REFUSEDMORETON BAY LAID UP. (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A meeting of the Stewards’ Union decided that the union should 'offer a full complement of stewards to the steamer Moreton Bay. The Commonwealth Shipping Board refused the offer because of its decision ,to lay up tne vessel for four months.
