DRIFT TO THE CITIES.
AUSTRALIA’S FUTURE PROBLEM. (Per Press Association—Copyright.) ' LONDON, December 29. The “Daily Express,” under the headline, “Problem of Australian Future,” across its front page, gives prominence to the report of the Imperial Trade Commissioner, Mr Dalton on the situation in Australia to June, 1925, which report has been issued by the Department of Overseas Trade. The “Express” says that Mr Dalton places in the foreground of his picture two striking facts: That Australia is a laud of many empty spaces and that thero aro two great cities. Tho paper also gives prominence to a passage in which Mr Dalton discusses the effect of high tariffs and the development of manufactures on the drift to the cities.
