A. F. SMITH SCHOLARSHIPS

TWO- AWARDS MADE. The A. F. Smith Scholarship Board met in the Borough School yesterday and made its awards. There were present: Messrs W. F. Watters, Derisley Wood, W. H. Woods, John Watson, and S. J. irwin (headmaster). In accordance with the provisions of the trust, reports on the scholastic attainments and of the qualifications of manliness, honesty, sincerity, unselfishness, and interest taken in the corporate life of the school were submitted from the school staff. Donald Alfred Smith and Gordon William Moore were awarded scholarships. These are of the value of £2o each, and are tenable over two years at any technical, secondary, or agricultural school. The next in order of merit are: Mollie Watson Irwin, Isabel Clark, and Clifford Pilbrow.
