Watson, for many-r years incumbent of St. John's Churolii ■ Christchurch. He was born m Melbourne m 1863, and arrived m New Zealand with his parents when he wa» • nine years of age. He graduated at ■ Canterbury College. He left for England m 1885, and entered journalism. He -was for a time assistant editor of ' "Black and White" and the "P&U Mall Gazette," and was on the "Na- • tional Observer" staff under W.
