He 'was born, a* Gorthlea ? County Kerry* Ireland, m 1853, - emigrating "to New. Zealand by the sailing ship Northern Monarch, he - landed at Lyttelton on February 1, . 1879. After following farming pursuits on the Acton Estate for a number of years he acquired a farm at • Marawhiti m 1898, where he resided". until the time of his death. The deceased waß of a kindly disposition and was highly esteemed by those who • knew him. Much sympathy is felt for • his widow and family m their sad be- ■ , reavement.
