At the Aldington market there was an average yarding of fat stock, and a reduced one or store sheep. 'Values were well maintained in all. classes of fat* stock, narcieularly in sheep and cattle.

In store sheep the yarding x included a considerable consignment of South Otago and southern sheep, which were in backward condition. The market opened sluggishly, and at a considerable decrease on the preceding week's rates. Vendors were prepared to accept the market, and 1 there were few passings. Values improved .as the sale progressed.

Forward lambs 10s to 21s lOd, ordinary 14s 9d to 18s 6d 3 culls 10s 3d to 12s 9d; good 2-tooth ewes to 2(Js 9d, 2 to 8-tooth 25s (id to 28s Gd, inferior 19s to 23s 6d,' 4 and' 5-year ewes 20s to 24s Bd, sound-mouthed ewes 21s 6d to 28s; good 4 and 6tooth wethers 30s to 345; inferior 23s to 28s, good" 2-tooth wethers to ' 295, ordinary and inferior 22s to 27s 6d.

Fat lambs.—27so were yarded, of moderate quality. Considering; ' the lack of -weight the market was good, freezing buyers securing the bulk. Exbra prime lambs to 34s 6d, prime 27k (3d to 335, medium 25s to 27s 3d, light iind unfinished 22s 7d to 24s 9d.

The fat sheep market opened somewhat weakly, but quickly strengthened, and a good sale resulteu'. Extra prime wethers brought 45s 3d to 5-1 s Id, prime 27s to 4-is 9d, medium 31s to 375, lighter 26s 3d to 30s 9d; extra prime ewes 44s to 49s 3d, prime 35s 6d to 44s 9d, medium 31s to 355, lighter 21s 3d to 30s 6d.

Fat cattle.—Extra prime steers £24 5s to £26 10s, prime £18 5s to C 24, medium £14 5s to £17 ss, lighter £10 L7s 6d to £13 10s; prime heifers £I' 2 LOs to £15 2s 6d, ordinaiy £7 ]0s tc. £11 10s; prime cows £13 5s to £19, ordinary £9 to £V 2 os.
