SOLDIER SETTLEMENTS.

0 CHRISTCHURCH, April 27. The Lands Department notify that the following blocks in Canterbury will be open for soldier settlement shortly:— Agricultural land— The Bankfield Settlement, of 1435 acres, in eight sections, at St Andrews, and the Lambrook Settlement, of 900 acres, approximately, in four sections, at Winscombe. Applications will probably close on 'May 29. Pastoral.—The " Waitangi run, of 21,200 acres, in one block, situated near the Waitaki river; available on May 29.

Grazing land, second class—Waitohi Peaks, of 9000 acres, in ten sections, 13 miles from Ha warden; available about June 7.
