There was a large and representative gathering in the Winchmnre Hall lost evening to sny farewell to •Mr T. Capon, who is leovine; the district. Mr J. Glassey, on behalf of the, district residents, presented Mr -Capon, with a roller-top desk, with the united pood wishes of his many friends. Tn the course of his remarks he said Mr Capon had been a resident of the"'district for 40 years, and was probably tine mosfc eseeemeq -man aTirtmg&t them: Mr Joshua Tucker said hol had had business dealings with Mr Capon' dm* ing 40 years, and could endorse all the good things that had. been said of him. Mr J. Smith said as a boy .he 1 liad worked for Mr Capon, and esteemed it a privilege.
Mr Capon, who was received by the singing of " He's a jolly good fellow," feelingly respond^. During the evening a travelling nut was presented to Mrs Cunningham, Mr Capon's'housekeeper
Dancing- was then started, and.'kept up with spirit- till the early hours. Mr 1 W. O'Grady making an efficient' M.C. The music was by Mr and Mrs Shearer. ....
