MEETINGS.
The Pride of Wakanui Lodge held its fortnightly meeting in the Wakanui schoolroom last evening. .Bro. >A. Wilson, C.T... presided over a large "at- ' tendance. Two candidates wer6 vini^ tiated into the Order. The' business being concluded,'Bro. "A. Wilson, the newly-elected ''Mayor," inyited., the "electors" to the banquet, the tables being spread with an array of good things of which the members showed commendable appreciation. The toast list was as follows: "The King," proposed by the chairman; "The; Mayor ■ and Mayoress," proposed by Bro.' C. Andrews, responded by Bro. A.-Wilson; "Our Soldiers, Army and Navy," proposed by Bro, C. Frampton, responded by Bro. A. 1 Amos; "The Lodge," proposed Sister J. Butterick, responded by Ero. A. Wilson, C.T.; "The Married Brothers,"- proposed Sister A. Amos responded Bro. A. Brown; "TheMarried Sisters," proposed Bro. :A. Wilson responded Sister H. Butterick; "The Single Sisters," proposed Bro. .R. Wilson responded , Sister Crawford; "The Single Brothers,", proposed Sister T. Butterick responded Bro. McLean;' "New' Members," proposed'Bro. C. Andrews responded ■ Sister , Shep^-. pherd; "The Press," proposed Bro. Fan-bairn, responded Bro. C. Andrews; "The Grand Lodge," proposed Bro; WButterick responded Bro. G. W; Andrews. The speeches throughout tho evening were of a high order. Musical items were given during the evening and a very pleasant function was brought to a close with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
