_ WELLINGTON. July S. The Chief Justice recently quashedan indictment for bigamy against James Jackson, in consequence of a decision, in a; previous case, where it seemed that tho marriage had been contracted beyond the shores of New Zealand. An announcement is now .made by the Minister of Juatioe that authority lias been given for Judges of 'the first division of the Court of Appeal to sit with the Judges of the second division*, to hear a special case submitted to th&ut,, King; v. James Jackson. Special authority was required, and Had been given by Order-in-Council.
