WELLINGTOM SYNOD.
WELLINGTON, July 3. Tlie Wellington Synod, after a long discussion on tihe subject of pew rents, passed a resolution —"That this Synod affirms the princiolo of free and open churches througliout the diocese."
In view of tho King's proclamation commanding geaeral thanksgiving services, the Synod decided to close its session in order that ministers might reach their parishes in time to pre?»ar<» for services on Sunday.
