"MEMORIAL" ROAD.

'-.'• Sir.—Haying had occasion to take a joy ( ?) ride over the succession of jolts'. jars, slides, and whiaz-bang«, called by courtesy the Main South Road. I came;to the. conclusion that a ■■memorial in ; the shape of a good arterial road was sheer' waste of public money.
