TRANSMISSION THROUGH POST PROHIBITED.

■ WELLINGTON, Sept. 26. The Postmaster-General has received from London official confirmation of the report that the import of sugar, into the United Kingdom, except.under license, is forbidden, and he n's advised that the Royal Commission responsible for the, iseuo of such liconses is not prepared to make exception ,in favour of New Zealand to its rule of not issuing licenses 1 for private importation' of sugar from any place. The Post Office will, therefore, be unable to accept parcels tor the United Kingdom containing sugar.
