CAMP ACCOMMODATION.
, WELLINGTON, October 14. .; '■■> The decision of the Government to accelerate the despatch of reinforcements and to increase the strength of the drafts, makes it necessary for the Defence - Dppai-,tmeht to arrange for increased camp, accommodation. The Defence Mini&tcr 'stated to-day . that provision had been made at Trentkam camp for the accommodation of 5000 men", and it was not proposed to increase this number. The Tauherenikau camp has-been designed to contain 3500 men,'", and plans had been prepared for placing an additional 1000 men there, bringing the total number ,up to 4500. The enlargement would not entail a great deal of expense since most of the main buildings would serve under the new conditions. The temporary camp at May Morn, Upper Hutt, had proved highly satisfactory and it would be retained. Later the camp at Rangiotu would be occupied.
