PARIS, December 14. The police, discovered at Mentargis a baby farming organisation which is believed to be operating throughout France, and also abroad. It also is alleged that it is responsible for 15,0001 illegal operations. The Montargis case constitutes an amazing revelation. The letters and papers seized show that the agency had dealings with 15,000 wpmen, with which it had come in contact by-means of advertisements and agents in provincial towns. .
A man and two women accomplices have been arrested. Three houses belonging to the organisation had been discovered in Paris. A dead servant girl's case revealed them to the police.
The women appear to have received drugs through tho post, subsequently coining te Paris to have illegal operations performed. The Senate is shortly discussing a Bill regulating lying-in 'hospitals'-?.; and mid-wives. Complicity' in abortion will be made a criminal offence, and includes dealing with drugs and advertisements, also those publishing recommendations. Statistics reveal an alarming prevalence of abortion.
