CENTURY-OLD WRECK
CAST UP BY MARINE DISTURBANCE.
MASTODON'S SKULL ALSO THROWN UP.,

(Received December 16, 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 15. A submarine disturbance has occurred off the Californian coast, violently agitating the sea. The wreck of an ancient vessel, which is believed to have lain at the bottom of the sea for 100 years,' has been cast ashore. Identification of the wreck is impossible.
A mastodon's skull, with the tusks and a large portion of the vertebrae intact, was also thrown ashore.
The foreshore works in many places along the coast have been damaged by the violence of the waves.
