The public buildings were patrolled last night. John Bates was sent to gaol for a month for disorderly conduct. He incited the crowd to attack the police during the demonstration by boy news-paper-runners on strike, yesterday. The Conciliation Council adjourned the gasworks dispute to enable tho parties to confer.
