It was reported that the Cricket Club m connection with the lodgp. had been formed, and the officers and committees elected for the year. The club had been granted the use" of the top hockey ground m the Domain. The programme for the evening took the form of a mock mayoral election. Sis. Johnston and Bro. W. Hewitt were the only candidates taking part, and after defining their policies ,and schemes for the betterment of the borough—some of which rather appealed to sentiment than to commonsense —a vote was taken, when Sis. Johnston was returned for the position. The lodge was then closed m the 1 usual way by the Chief Templar.
