St Aidon's Sunday School scholars held their annual Croat on .Saturday, the 2Uth juotant by the kind jkViiiia.s:on oi: Hie Trustees of the Mount .ioiiieia liiscate, wore conveyed, with their relatives and iriends, m the train to the terminus of the new line to the coal mines. The day was periect— windier and sunny. ' The camping place, i.iy a beautiful clear stream ,was surrounded by hills, rocks and bush. Alier luncheon, a visit to the coal mine, various games, and more refreshments m the afternoon, the whole party return to the train, Avhcrc .the llev Mr Pritchett -warmly thanked Mr Pawson (as deputy for the trustees) for the use of the train, which enabled the children and their parents to enjoy their pleasant and interesting outing. He wan seconded by hearty cheers from the children, and responded to by Mr Pawson. Hearty cheers were also given for the Rev Mr Pritchett and the school teachers, the ladies who provided the refreshments, the engine-driver and the stoker. A starli was then made and all reached home safely m an hour's time, after a most enjoyable and happy clay. The Rev Mr Yorke of Methven, had very kindly driven over on Thursday to examine the work done by the Sunday School, and expressed his pleasure at the ready responses given by the children. The prizes were presented on the 21st, before morning service. First and second classes—Annie Bennett, Percy Bennett, Doris Webster, j Jim Bennett, Eric Bennett and Fanny Boak. For highest marks m examination— Marjorie Pritohett, Eileen Pritchett, Annie Bennett (tie) with Jack Pritchett, Maggie Doak and Leslie Gray.
