CHKISTCfItTRCH, February 23. llio nitli and final of tho current series of wool sales was held yesterday, tho catalogues of the seven firms takiiu part ii! the sale aggregating 1898 baled, lhe comparatively small oiferiix's are largely accounted for by the fact that the satisiactory demand at the oarlW sales induced growers to sell.. The bulk of the wools consisted of small lots constituting the windiug-iip of il^ wasoii s clips, much o! which was of indiilerait quality. The attendance of buyers was somewhat smaller than at sales held earlier m the season, and consisted mainly of, representatives of local factories and fellmongering establishments. The bulk of the wool sold was secured by local and Bradford buyers. Competition wacs fairly brisk, except tor merino, which was neglected and the greater part of this descriution was' passed m. Taking quality into consideration -prices obtained were fairly on a par with previous sales. The fullownig is a range of prices: Merino super B£d to 9£d, medium to good 7 J.d to Sd, inferior 6±d to 7d, half'bred super Did to 9f;d, medium to good 7sd to '■hi, miorior yd to Id ; tlirceniuirterbred sujier 8d to Sid. medium to good 63d to <3d A inferior SJ-d to 6-Jd; crosiibred super 73d to Bd, medium to good 6d to 7id, inferior 4]d to aid; longwool medium to good 6^ ; Corricdale 8d to 10-icl; scoured halfbred LO^cl to l<Ud; nieces (merino) 4|d to 8d ; halfbred pieces 23d to Bd, three-quarterbred pieces 4+d • locks ]!, to old; bellies 3d to QU': crutcliings 2\d to 4id.
