THE KING v, PEDDLE

' WELLINGTON, August 8. Thomas Peddle was brought before Mr Justice Cooper to-day for sentence on a charge of assaulting the Hawke's Bay sheriff whilst the sheriff was engaged in the execution of his duty. His Honour considered that a proper medical examination, should be made of the prisoner's mental condition, and remanded him till Saturday.
