The newspapers express regret at the action ofc" the New South Wales Cricket Association on the umpire question^ The "Daily Telegraph " says Australians ought to be the last people in the world to take umbrage at an umpire's fitness being questioned.
Tne Ashburton High School will play a return match with the Tmwald second eleven to-morrow in the Tinwald Domain The following team will represent thi former club :—Masters Berryman (captain) Mathais, Sinclair, Baas, Helem, Norman McClutchie, Oraighead, Clothier, Williams, Culverhouse; emergencies — Whitehouse and Eade.
The secretary of the Ashbutton Traded men Cricket Club is endeavouring t< arranee a match with the Longbeach Clul for March 17th or 19th, and with th< Aehburton Club on March 10th.
The fourth test match commences al Sydney on Friday. As the issue ol supremacy between the colonials and Englishmen is yet undecided, keen interest in the fixture is bound to ensue.
