The Eev. Mr Rogers has been elected President of the Methodist Conference. Mr Bavin, the retiring 1 President, in hia valedictory address, said the condition of this State was not religious. Legislature, which wns supposed to be an index to the character of the people, could not by any stretch of imagination be called a Christian or religious Parliament. The rices of intemperance, gambling, and immorality were not diminishing in the State.
