I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration, with a recommendation that legislation be enacted for the protection of cemeteries and burial-grounds on the same lines as the protection of buildings, gardens, &c., provided for in section 18 (b) of the Public Works Act, 1928. 6th November, 1947. 2—l 3
