Normanby, Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of July, 1878. Present: His Excellency the Governor in Council. In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the three hundred and fiftieth section of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and upon the request of the Borough of Avenal, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby order that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall he and the same is hereby reserved out of the waste lands of the Provincial District of Otago, for the purpose of granting the same to the Corporation of the Borough of Avenal.
SCHEDULE. All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement three hundred (300) acres, more or less, situate in Invercargill Hundred. Bounded on the North by land proposed as an endowment for the Town of Invercargill, four thousand two hundred (4200) links ; on the East by Crown lands, seven thousand one hundred and forty-three (7143) links ; on the South by a road line, four thousand two hundred (4200) links ; and on the West by lands proposed as endowments for South Invercargill and East Invercargill, seven thousand one hundred and forty-three (7143) links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. Bounded towards the North by Section numbered 8; towards the East and South-east by Section numbered 10 and a road line; again towards the North by Section numbered 10; again towards the East by Bush Reserve, Block IX., Tuapeka West Survey District, and Sections numbered 1 and 2, same district; towards the South by Section numbered 15; again towards the East by a road line ; again towards the South by Section numbered 17 ; and towards the West, South-west, and North-west by a road line.
