I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your circular No. 20, 14th June last, and in reply have to state that during the year 1865, no taxation was levied in this Province on account of the various Eoad and Educational Boards, and the Invcrcargill Town Board having during the severe crisis suspended action, and in some instances ceased to'exist.
