Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to whom shall be referred all Bills specially dealing with the revision of the law, with power to confer and sit together with any similar Committee appointed by the Legislative Council; the Committee to have power to call for papers, and records ; three to be a quorum; the Committee to consist of Mr. Barnard, Mr. Bodkin, Mr. Broadfoot, Mr. Meld, Mr. Lysnar, Mr. Mason, the Hon. REPORTS.

Reprint of Statutes Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the Reprint of Statutes Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. 4th August, 1931.

Distress and Replevin Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the abovementioned Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendment shown in the attached copy. 18th August, 1931.

Judicial Proceedings (Regulation of Reports) Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the above Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendment shown in the attached copy. 26th August, 1931.

Land Transfer (Hawke's Bay) Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the abovementioned Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown in the attached copy. The Committee further recommend that the proposed amendments submitted by the Hawke's Bay District Law Society, relevant to clauses 10 and 11 of the Bill, receive favourable consideration. 27th October, 1931.

Chattels Transfer Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the Chattels Transfer Amendment Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown in the copy of the Bill hereto attached. sth November, 1931.

Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the honourable member in charge of the above-mentioned Bill having intimated his intention of applying for leave to withdraw the Bill, the Committee recommends that leave be given accordingly. sth November, 1931.

Law Practitioners Bill. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee has carefully considered the abovementioned Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. 6th November, 1931.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Committee desires-to express their appreciation of the manner in which Mr. L. C. Dawe, as Clerk of the Committee, has performed his duties, and. further that this resolution be recorded on the minutes of the Committee and reported to the House. 9th November, 1931. W. J. Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee, consisting of ten members, has held twelve meetings, with an average attendance at each meeting of five members. Nine Bills have been referred to the Committee, all of which have been considered. Six have been reported on, one was withdrawn on the recommendation of the Committee, and two were left in the hands of the Government to be dealt with. 9th November, 1931. W. J. Broadfoot, Chairman.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Committee desires to place on record their cordial appreciation of the ability and unfailing courtesy of Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, who as Chairman has carried out his duties, and, further, that this resolution be recorded on the minutes of the Committee, and reported to the House. 10th November, 1931. W. H.
