Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated 19th July, 1888. Ordered, " That a return be laid on the table showing all the railway-lines dealt with in the report of tho Railway Commission of 1880 enumerated on pages xvi and xvii of E.-3, 1880, indicating (1) which of these lines have been built; (2) by whom built, Government or private enterprise; (3) whether they pay working expenses or not respectively ; and (4) how many trains run daily on them." —(Dr. Newman.)
