WEDDINGS

JOHNSON—LACON

The wedding was solemnised‘at St. George’s Church, Frankton, on August 28, when Mary Florence, younger daughter of Mr and the late Mrs F. R. Lacon, late of Raurimu, was married to Percival Maurice, only son of Mr and Mrs Johnson, of Kea Street, Frankton. The bridegroom was one of a party recently returned from the Middle East on furlough. The officiating minister was the Rev. M. N. Richards and Captain W. S. Dingle presided at the organ. The bride entered the church with her father wearing a charming gown of white lace and georgette. Her long net veil was held in place with lilies and orange blossom. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss ; Daphne Johnson, sister of the bridej groom, who was wearing a frock of' | pale green taffeta, and Misses Jean} j and Isobel Mill, nieces of the bride, 1 | wearing frocks of apricot taffeta. Each j carried a posy of spring flowers with , top-knots to match. ; Mr Rowland Mill was the best man, and Mr J. W. Mill and Mr C. Howie acted as ushers. | Mrs Mill, sister of the bride, received the guests wearing a suit of blue crepe with hat to match and shoulder-spray of freesias. Mrs Johnson, mother of the bridegroom, was

wearing a black crepe frock with matching hat and shoulder-spray of spring flowers. When Mr and Mrs Johnson left later on a tour of the North Island, the bride travelled in a coat of lime green with a matching hat and accessories.
