LIEUTENANT WOUNDED
FORMER HAMILTON MAN Second-Lieutenant Keith R. M. 1 Simcock, reported in a casualty list - as wounded, was a former well- • known Hamilton man. His mother is Mrs C. Simcock, of Devon Road, - Hamilton. Lieutenant was • born and educaten in Hamilton, and took a keen interest in the Harriers’ Club before going overseas about six • years ago. He was on the staff of I Messrs House and Daking. Limited, ; and went to England to gain further '• business experience, securing em- ' ployment in London. He was pre- . paring to return to New Zealand, via '• America, when war broke out. He ' enlisted and was posted soon afterward to the New Zealand Expedi- • tionary Force, First Echelon. Before reaching Egypt he spent some weeks -lin France before the capitulation. On • arrival in Egypt he soon gained non- " commissioned rank, and served i’. | through the Greek and Cretan cam- • paigns. He had been continuously on 1 active service until he was wounded. He was promoted second-lieutenant a few months ago. Latest information received in Hamilton is that he I is progressing well from a wound in a ithe right arm. His sister, Miss Joan " Simcock, is also on active service, -j being attached to a base hospital
