CHILD DROWNED
FALL INTO RIVER > KARAPIRO FATALITY r A drowning fatality occurred at 1 the Karapiro Hydro Works early yest terday afternoon, the victim being: i William Andrew Ransom, aged 3J s years, son of Mr and Mrs E. R. RanB som. Mr Ransom is employed by e the Public Works Department at Western Springs, Auckland, and Mrs e Ransom is employed at Karapiro. 5 The fatality occurred just below 1 the married men’s quarters of the » camp. The child was last seen with e a little girl going toward the river. e A few minutes later the girl returned 3 in tears saying that the boy had l fallen in. Under the leadership of s Constable Robinson, of Cambridge, t a search was organised but so far no trace has been found of the body. 1 The search is continuing.
