PROGRESS REPORTED i FURTHER DISCUSSIONS WELLINGTON, Wednesday Interest in the recent negotiations between the party leaders for achieving political unity was stimulated today, when a conference took place at which there was a fuller representi tation of both the Labour Party and [. the National Party. The conference e met in the morning, twice in the r afternoon and again tonight. The 4 Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. e Fraser, and the Leader of the g Opposition, Mr S. G. Holland, both t stated at the tea adjournment that e progress had been made. Beyond i that they had no statement to make, d There have been several meetings s between the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition since they - began the present discussions on May i 29 with additional representatives - taking part in them.
