AXLE BREAKS

EXPRESS TRAIN DELAYED The breaking of an axle of a waggon loaded with timber on a Te Kuiti-Frankton goods train soon after it had left Rukuhia at about 5.30 yesterday afternoon caused some dislocation to the rail services. The principal delay was caused to the Main Trunk express which left Auckland at 3 p.m. and was timed to leave Frankton at 5.54 p.m. It was held at Frankton until shortly after half past seven, by which time the disabled waggon had been unloaded and tipped off the rails. No other passenger trains were delayed to any great extent. This morning the northbound Limited express arrived at Frankton four minutes ahead of schedule.
