POST OFFICE MAILS
AMENDED CLOSING HOURS ■With a view to conserving manpower to enable further releases for Army service, the Post and Telegraph Department has found it necessary to curtail mail room hours. Amended hours for the closing of mails at the Hamilton Chief Post Office are as follows: Offices between Horotiu and Papakura, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Auckland district, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Thames, Taneatua, King Country and Rotorua district, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Cambridge, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Southern offices, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.; 2nd class and parcel mails for Manawatu, Wairarapa and Wellington districts, also South Island, 11 a.m.; registered and parcel mails for offices despatched at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. except the parcel mails already referred to close one hour earlier. Mails for delivery by postmen, residential area. 8 a.m.; business area, 8 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.
