SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED
PRESENTATIONS MADE At a function held recently the services of several Cambridge mem- [ bers of the armed forces were recognised with a presentation ceremony. I The deputy-Mayor, Mr A. H. Nicoll, who was joined by Mr R. Neweombe in extending the good wishes of the residents of Cambridge and the members of the Returned Services Association respectively, assured the guests of honour of the admiration | they have inspired among those they , left at home. : Mrs A. H. Nicoll presented en- ! graved leather wallets to the follow- j ing:—Gunners N. Garland, G. R. | Bartlett, D. Bryce. A. G. Sutherland, i D. Lewis and Aircraftman L. N.
Buttimore. Gunner N. Garland on behalf of the guests replied. Morning tea was served by the Women’s Patriotic Committee, the table in the Council Chamber where the function was held being decorated with mixed flowers. Those present were Mesdames Edgar James, J. W. Garland, J. Buttimore, R. MacDonald, G. G. L. Taylor, W. Munroe, R. L. Swayne, S. Lewis, R. Neweombe, A. J. Swayne, F. M. Oliver, H. Bear, H. E. Amyes, J. R. Haworth, A. N. Macky. Misses Phyllis Garland, Shirley Buttimore and Ruby Neweombe.
