WEEKEND REGATTA
HAMILTON YACHT CLUB Promising to be the most successful regatta yet held by the club, the Hamilton Yacht Club’s annual regatta will be held on the Lake tomorrow and on Sunday. In spite of war conditions, boats from Auckland, Rotorua, Tauranga and Mount Maunganui are expected to compete. A feature of the first day’s races is the open general handicap, the winner of which receives the Grocott Trophy. This race is to be competed for by boats from the South Auckland, Rotorua and Bay of Plenty districts. The programme is as follows: February 14: 2 p.m., Tauranga Class Handicap; 2.15 p.m., Silver Fern Championship; 2.30 p.m., Open General Handicap; 3 p.m., afternoon tea; 3.30 p.m., Grocott Trophy Open Handicap. February 15: 10.30 a.m., Visitors’ Race; 2 p.m., Tauranga Class Handicap; 2.30 p.m., Ladies’ Race (2nd heat); 2.45 p.m., Open Class Handicap; 3 p.m., Tauranga Class Handicap.
