SERVICE APPEALS
No. 2 BOARD SITTING MORRINSVILLE CASES FARM AND FACTORY HANDS All appellants granted adjournment of their cases by the No. 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board at Morrinsville yesterday were informed that a necessary condition was active attendance at Home Guard parades. Appeals by the Norfolk Dairy Company, Limited, for Dudley Gordon Stewart, cheese factory hand, Motuamoho; Mrs D. R. Savage for Leslie Raynor # Savage, farm hand, Tahuna; E. A. W. Webber for Richard Arnold Webber, farm hand, Morrinsville, and R. H. Semple for Alexander O’Neill, Tatuanui, were withdrawn. The following appeals were dismissed: Director of National Service for John Martin Steiner, cheese factory employee, Tatuanui (reservist goes to camp on April 1); George Alfred Mellor, sharemilker, Kiwitahi (leave until June 1); Frederick Jones Simmons, sharemilker, Tatuanui; I. W. Semmens for Douglas Innes Semmens, farm hand, Te Puninga; lan Walter Marshall, Morrinsville (to be called for the Medical Corps). G. Forlong appealed for Robert David Gordon Forlong, farm hand, Kiwitahi, stating the reservist was a member of the Open Brethren and a Sunday School teacher at Walton. The Board granted sine die adjournment. The appeal was based on public interest, undue hardship and conscientious objection. Sine Die Adjournments The following were granted sine die adjournment: Tatua Dairy Company, Limited, for Clarence Sutherland McKenzie, assistant cheesemaker, Tatuanui; H. P. Gubb for Alister Roy Gubb, farm hand, Morrinsville; Mrs E. M. Were for Harry Hayden Corbett, sharemilker, Morrinsville; A. J. Riley for James Alexander Riley, dairy farmer, Kiwitahi; W. R. Raynel for Leslie Robert Wilfred Raynel, farm hand, Kiwitahi; J. Maber for Hubert Emanuel Maber, farmer, Motumaoho; H. S. Edward for Harold .Tames Edward, farmer, Tahuna, and A. A. Edward, leave till April 1; J. A. White for Burnard John White, farm hand, Motumaoho; H. R. Findon, Morrinsville. The appeal by J. Smith for Walter James Smith, farmer, Tauhei, was* adjourned until next sitting of the Board. W. R. Raynel’s appeal for Donald Richard Jackson Raynell, farm hand. Kiwitahi, was dismissed, but the reservist was granted leave till March 31.
