WEDDING

MCDONALD—KINSON MAGNOLIA SATIN AND LACE A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Huntly, on Saturday afternoon, November 16, between Lilian Amy, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs B. Kinson, of Raynor’s Road, Huntly, and Allister, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. C. McDonald, of Alten Road, Auckland. The Rev. G. Oulds, of Matamata, uncle of the bridegroom, performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. J. C. A. Zimmerman, and the wedding music was played by Mr H. Meadows. The church was beautifully decorated with lilies, stock, sweet peas and greenery. A beautiful froclc of magnolia satin and lace was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. Fashioned with a V-shaped neckline, the bodice, which was softly shirred and inset with lace, was fitted to a pointed waistline, the back being finished to below the waist with satin-covered buttons. The long sleeves, inset with lace at the .shoulders, were shirred below the elbows, and came to points at the wrists, and the fully-flared skirt fell gracefully to form a long oval train, inset with lace. Her long veil of magnolia embroidered tulle was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom, and tiny arum lilies, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and white stock arranged with maidenhair fern. The Attendants Attending as bridesmaids were Miss Beryl Kinson, sister of the bride, and Miss Ida Knapper. The former wore a pretty frock of lemon lace, designed with a full skirt edged with three large flounces of organdi trimmed with lemon and green flowers, and the bodice was fashioned with puffed sleeves and a Peter Pan collar. The second bridesmaid wore a pretty frock of turquoise blue lace and organdi, fashioned on similar lines, the flounces being trimmed with blue and pale pink flowers. They wore headdresses of lemon and blue stiffened frilled tulle and flowers, and carried bouquets of lemon stock, and cream and pale pink roses. The bridegroom was attended by his brothers, Messrs Hector and Wallace McDonald, of Auckland, as best man and groomsman, respectively. After the ceremony, a reception was held at Davies Park Social Hall, where the tables were beautifully decorated with lemon and blue sweet peas and greenery. Mrs B. Kinson, the bride’s mother, wore a navy and white patterned frock, with a hat of navy ballibuntal straw. She carried a bouquet of red roses and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs McDonald, wore a black ensemble, with a hat and accessories of geranium red. Her bouquet was composed of autumntinted tulips, roses and maidenhair fern. When Mr and Mrs McDonald left for their honeymoon the bride was wearing a navy model frock, a navy princess coat and a large white hat trimmer with navy velvet ribbon.
