FIRST STEP

MILITARY RESERVE MEDICAL BOARDS NEXT WEEK The first step in the mobilisation of the 6th (Hamilton) Company of the National Military Reserve, whicli was recently authorised by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, will be taken next week when medical examinations and attestation of the members of the company will be undertaken in Hamilton. About 200 members of the reserve will be examined. Medical examinations will be conducted by the Army authorities in Hamilton next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The mobilised strength of the company will be 133 only, so that even if several men are rejected by the medical boards there should be no difficulty in forming the company at full strength.

After the examinations and attestations t the next step will be the clothing and equipping of the company. The uniforms will be similar to the territorial pattern.
