BOROUGH OF WAITARA
MORE HOUSES REQUIRED LEGISLATIVE PROVISION (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The possibility of the Borough of Waitara, near New Plymouth, Increasing by two or three thousand persons if housing were made available was claimed by the Rev. F. L. Frost (Government —New Plymouth) when explaining in the House of Representatives today the Waitara Borough Council Empowering Bill, which was introduced some time ago. Today amendments to the Local Legislation Bill were introduced by Governor-General's message to provide for the erection of a bridge by a freezing works company at Waitara. Mr Frost said the bridge was necessary to the extension of the works, and the extension would mean a large increase In the number of men employed.
