UNREST IN INDIA

BRITISH OFFER REJECTED OPPOSED TO DEMOCRACY (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) WARDHA,, Aug. 22 After a sitting lasting five days the Congress Working Committee passed the following resolution rejecting Britain’s offer of August 8: “The Viceroy’s statement is wholly opposed, not only to the principle of democracy which the British acclaim in their war aims, but also to India’s best interest.
